Fog & Flour is a San Francisco home bakery devoted to one thing: baking the way it should be done. No shortcuts, no compromises, no artificial anything.

Organic Throughout

Every ingredient is chosen with care. Organic flour, organic eggs, organic dairy — because what goes in matters as much as what comes out.

Small Batch Only

We never scale up at the expense of quality. Every batch is mixed, portioned, and baked by hand. Quantity is always secondary to craft.

No Shortcuts

Raisins are soaked. Butter is browned. Dough is chilled overnight. The steps that most bakeries skip are the ones we refuse to.

A bakery born from obsession, not ambition.

Fog & Flour started the way most good things do — quietly, in a kitchen, with a question: why doesn't bakery food taste like this at home? The answer turned out to be simple. Most commercial bakeries optimize for throughput. We optimize for the cookie.

Every recipe in our collection has been tested, retested, and refined until there's nothing left to improve. The Chocolate Chunk cookies use 340g of dark chocolate per batch. The Oatmeal Raisin uses Thompson raisins soaked in hot water until they're plump. The muffins are baked in a two-phase process — a blast of high heat to set the dome, then a gentle finish to develop the crumb.

These aren't shortcuts discovered by accident. They're techniques built up over hundreds of batches, with the kind of attention that only comes when someone is genuinely obsessed with getting it right.

We're based in San Francisco and we bake for people who can taste the difference.

The process

Weighed, Not Measured

Every ingredient is weighed to the gram. Cups and tablespoons introduce inconsistency. We don't allow inconsistency.

Chilled & Rested

Cookie doughs are chilled overnight before portioning. Muffin batters rest before baking. Time is an ingredient.

Temperature-Precise

Our gas oven is calibrated for precision. Blast temperatures are timed to the minute. Underbaking is intentional.

Organic Everything

Organic flour, organic dairy, organic eggs. We source the best available and taste the difference in every batch.
